Toca Social has partners with Leah Williamson in order to drive participation and involvement with women's football throughout the 23/24 season.
“Momentum” is the new campaign that Toca Social has launched partnering with Arsenal and England star Leah Williamson who with the aim to increase audience involvement with the game by their goal of 50,000 over the coming season. This is a huge partnership and opportunity for the game and will hopefully see more girls and women on the pitch as well as on the sidelines.
The programme will include initiatives such as Women's World Cup Box Takeovers, a School's Out programme and a weekly Women's Hour.
Williamson has always been a driving force behind the success of women's football both on the pitch and behind the scenes and can definitely be said to be the face of women's football in the UK. Most recently she has launched two books; her autobiography titled “You have the power” and “The Wonder Team and the Forgotten Footballers”, a story for children and young teens aiming to inspire the next generation into believing a career within the sport is a reality.
Even long before our euro’s success last year, Williamson has been advocating for equal opportunity for girls and women in the sport globally. In 2019, she teamed up with Save the Children in order to help those who face extreme poverty and give them the opportunity to play the sport as a form of self expression and escapism.
Williamson continues to set the standard for positively using your platform for social good. We’re excited to see what more this partnership with Toca Social has to offer in the coming season.
