Netflix release plans to launch a docu series with the Women's US National Team.
Netflix have recently announced that they will be filming and releasing a documentary series following the Women's US National Team’s journey to the FIFA Women's World Cup this summer.
The team captained by Lindsey Horan and Alex Morgan are fan favourites at this year's tournament after having won the cup four times out of the eight they’ve attended and if winning this year, would be their third consecutive win. With Rapinoe also announcing her retirement, the series will document her last tournament as well as newcomer Alyssa Thompson’s first tournament with the team.
Earlier this year, we also saw Matilda's partner with Disney+ for a docu series featuring the likes of Sam Kerr and Caitlin Foord which was well received (and about time if you ask me).
It's great to see that the women's game is starting to bring in huge projects from the likes of both Netflix and Disney+. It begs the question if the Lionesses will get this sort of coverage after proving themselves to be an unstoppable team during last year's Euros.
