Chelsea WFC manager Emma Hayes has stated she will be releasing a new audio book entitled Kill the Unicorn: Forget Perfection, Embrace Your Flaws, and Be Your Best which will be available on audible.
Having led the team to 14 major trophies in her time with the club, Emma can be said to be one of the best managers within the WSL. This was recently recognised when Emma received an OBE in 2022 for her services to football shortly after receiving her MBE 6 years earlier.
The book is a biographical account of her journey managing a top performing club within the WSL and the trials and tribulations that come along with this.
Hayes said: “Kill The Unicorn challenges the status quo of football leadership. With this book I aim to demystify the role of leader and give my honest insight into managing human beings, and attempting to bring the best out of them.”
Voiced by Hayes herself, the audio book hence aims to inspire the next generation of female industry professionals going into the field of football. Giving voices to these female professionals is something that is very important in promoting equality within the space and this book hopes to be a step in the right direction.
