Chelsea Home Kit Revealed: It’s finally here

The much anticipated 23/24 Chelsea home shirt has finally arrived and it’s got people talking.

This season’s shirt takes its inspiration from the 90s with the marketing efforts reflecting this overall vibe. The shirt is modeled over the 97/98 campaign shirt where Chelsea Men’s triumphed in Europe winning the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup and when Chelsea FC Women were participating in the Greater London Prem.

With gold detailing on both the sleeves and the nike tick, smaller details bring this shirt to life. Not to mention the new iridescent crest that some aren’t too sure over. But the main focus of the shirt and what is causing people to talk is the lack of sponsors.

After ending their 40M three year sponsorship deal with three last season, Chelsea are still on the hunt for a replacement. Fans aren’t happy with the blank release and are eager to know if this will be how the shirt stays or whether they’ll be able to pull a new deal out of the bag. Having already been forced to turn down a deal with Paramount+, it's not looking promising for the blues.

Fans have suggested a charity sponsor would be a great alternative for the major club, giving a huge platform to a NFPO.

Saying this, others love the look of the non-sponsored shirts and I personally rather like the minimalistic look. Some think it looks cleaner and are raring to go out and buy one.

The shirts will be released for early access on the 16 August via the Megastore at Stamford Bridge, on the Official Online Store and nike.com and available more widely on the 23rd August.

Will you be getting your hands on one?
